Hi, I'm Desi!
With training from Northwestern University, Desiree has the dry wit and sarcastic feel of a young Allison Janney, coupled with the comedic timing, smarts, and power-boss energy of June Diane Raphael.
She especially excels in dramedies, as she showcases in her recent lead role in the dark comedy feature film “My Divorce Party” opposite Laith Ashley and Rumer Willis. She recently filmed co-star roles in Welcome to Chippendales and Everyone is Doing Great, both Hulu Original Series'.
Desiree has an insatiable enthusiasm for collaborating on all parts of the creative process which she channels into independently producing, writing, and developing projects. The pilot, “It’s What She Would Have Wanted,” which she produced and played a lead role in, was selected as part of the 2021 Tribeca Creator’s Market. "It's What She Would Have Wanted" was just released on Omeleto's platform, which has over 3 Million Subscribers and is known for programming "The World's Best Short Films".
She also produced “Circus Person” alongside “Severance’s” Britt Lower, which was an official selection of Tribeca 2020 and won best of the festival at Catalyst Content. Next up, Desiree will play the lead role in the upcoming comedy-feature “Camp Girl,” directed/written by Slamdance and Bentonville Film Festival alumni Alec Tibaldi and "Dark History's" Katie Burris.
Desiree Staples originally hails from Laguna Beach, and has spent the majority of her adult life between Chicago and Los Angeles.
